Wow! April was a doosy!
Each and every month it seems that I am getting more and more booked out, and this is brilliant! Like *happy dance* type of brilliant! That is, after all, why I started Magnificent Mouthfuls.

I had a lot of butter and icing sugar come through my doors and leave in cakey goodness form over May, so it was hard to choose a few favourites…. but here they are!
First, we have the ice cream cone drip cake. This was a last minute order with a weeks notice, and I nabbed it up, even though I was quite booked. I have done PLENTY of drip cakes in my time, but never one with an ice cream cone, and I so badly wanted it for my portfolio! Definitely one of my favourites for May!
A ‘Tangled’ themed birthday cake. There was a little confusion with this cake. The customer had sent me a photo with fresh edible flowers on it, and when I explained I couldn’t supply these in the period of notice given, she said she would supply herself, and I’ll attach. And when the customer turned up, she had little edible sugar flowers… she wanted these types of flowers all along and was a bit confused why I couldn’t supply them! Turns out I was talking about a completely different thing!
Anywho, this cake is one of my favourites for May, simply because of the gorgeous crafted sugar flowers, although basic, still so effective, and the colour. Oh the colours in this design!
Black, gold and white. I just love this combination! This was a gluten and dairy free double barrel cake. It travelled down to Ayr after being picked up on Saturday morning. And because of the rain and potential flooding we had at that time, it actually travelled for 4 whole hours… when it should have only taken 1 hour! I’m so glad the customer was prepared and had created a nifty little cooler box for transport.
Nyan Cat Cake! Yay! I did Zoe’s cake last year for her 4th Birthday. And it was a Star Wars combined Paw Patrol themed. This year, Zoe’s mum bought the design and I quote ‘A cat cake with a rainbow coming out of it’s bottom’. Made me giggle my cakey pants off! With a slight design change, of just having a normal cake, rather than the actual Nyan cat, this cake quickly became one of my favourites, because my daughter LOVES the Nyan Cat, and because of the colours! I love rainbow!
And last, but definitely not least, this double gender Christening cake made it to the list. Again, another design that I have done many times. An ombre rosette cake. But what I really enjoy about this cake, is the simple fact that the shades of blue and pink, are the same shade for each tier. Well I think so anyway. The darkest blue matches the darkest pink. The lightest blue matches the lightest pink. I’m not sure if this makes sense to anyone, or if anyone else will actually appreciate the fact… but it definitely made my favourites for May, purely because of the shades.
